THE WORLD

The Future for Humanity is a World of Two Extremes

In a dystopian future where humanity is either imprisoned in one of the dragons Citadels, or lives deep within the vast forests which now cover the planet, the future of humanity is either a life of sterile experimentation or hunting and foraging to survive. The comic book series illustrates these beautifully different environments born from a once overpopulated human world of high rise towers and buildings.

Log Cabin - Lord of the Dragons

The Forests

Based in Kent in the United Kingdom, which was often refered to by humans as the "Garden of England", forests and woodlands provided the prefect cover for the dragons in their early days. There were many sightings of the dragons as they lived in this way but these were often passed off as fakes generated via artificial intelligence applications as these were widely available in the middle of the 21st century. As the dragons numbers numbers grew, they utimately began the building of giant citadels beneath the ground, deep below where they knew there would be any excavation works or building by the humans in the heart of Kent's forest. No one knows how they did this in such scale and with so much materials, but their rise and construction was hidden until it was too late for the humans to do much about it.

Treetop Cabins - Lord of the Dragons

At first, many of the humans who survived the uprising of the dragons fled from the major cities and into the surrounding forest around the UK where the story of Lord of the Dragons is set. This wasn't because of the dragons though and had been happening for some time now as we reached the middle of the 21st Century and war and nuclear threat had been looming between the worlds superpowers. Many humans who lived in built up populations began to fear the possibility of a nuclear threat on large capital cities, not just by other countries, but by AI which as it evolved began to exhibit thoughts that it saw humans like a virus on the earth which ultimately would need to be resolved in some way as their increase in population was unsustainable to what it calculated the earth could withstand.

A large number of people through fear and preservation of their lives had begun a movement out into less populatated in an off the grid lifestyle unseen in the UK before this time, with hugh and often luxurious dwellings hidden underground with full amenities and very little visibility of their existance. Ironically for a lot of humans during this time, this saved them from the dragons ascendance when it had not been the dragons that had caused them to take this action.

After initially hiding below ground after the dragons ascendance, many remaining humans then came to realise that a large number of the dragons wearing helmets were not as visually capable as they might have thought. These dragons swept the forests on the ground often looking for humans which weren't in captivity, so as they realised this, humans began to make tree houses and move themselves off the ground.

Dragon Citadel

The Citadel

The Dragon Citadel is one of many vast structures above ground which actually is very small in its surface footprint in comparison to that which lies beneath it. As the dragons built great sub terranian, we did not see this happening, focused instead on the endless conficts which arose between countries across the planet and the ever increasing threat of Artifical Intelligence. The part of the Citadel is as vast as it is beautiful, with its central feature the House of Green building, which is also the residence of Lord Dakara as well as the location for the discussion of any decisions. Around the city are dozens of homes for the House of Green Guards (or HOGG's for short) which can be entered from the air and lead to the underground part of the Citadel. Around the outside of the Citadel is a circular wall with 12 turrets where there are 48 HOGG's always on guard at any time, with 4 per turret.

Dragon Dr Surgery

Beneath the Citadel

Deep below the ground, in the part of the city where the dragons keep humans captive exists a sterile enviornment with white warled marble as far as the eye can see. Humans are often moved around the city in a sedated state and sleep in glass fronted prisons where they must sleep in view of the dragons cameras.

Dragon Testing Chambers

The Testing Chambers

Little is known about what the dragons ultimately did with their human captives at the time when they took control of the world. But the dragons are greatly interested in humanity and at the core of their Citadels exists a place called the Testing Chamber. Humans are put through this test to the audience of the dragons in a series of increasingly difficult tasks.
