About the Lord of the Dragons™ Project

Lord of the Dragons is a comic book series in development with the first comic due to be released for sale in 2025. The comic is set in a dystopian future where two species of dragons fight over who is in control of what remains of humanity.

On the one hand, the green skinned dragons known as the "House of Green" believe they know what is best for humanity and as humanity destroyed themselves through war and conflict, the House of Green crafted beautiful vast cities beneath us where they could live without humanity being aware of their existence. When the time was right and too few humans were left to oppose them, they elevated their enormous cities above ground into vast citadels and fully took control of the planet, vowing that humanity could no longer be trusted to rule the earth.

Opposingly, the red skinned dragons known as the "House of Red" believe that the green skinned dragons do not have humanities best interest at heart and have been capturing humans to experiment on them in secret for a long time and are now using their power to finally contain humanity.

However, as they are limited in their numbers, the red skins have been hunted down over the years by the green skins and have been forced to live in the forests for fear of being killed.

But as with many points in history, a tipping point in the equilibrium of time has come, where if the red skins do not act, they risk reaching the point of no return. And as the comic book story begins, it centres around two humans in the captivity to the green skinned dragons and follows their story amidst a dystopia where dragons once again rule the world.

My Inspiriation behind the Project

It all started with a dream. Two dragons in a clock tower, wind swords drawn and fighting exhaustively, ferociously and tirelessly to the death over the life of one of the remaining humans, a young boy called Leo. It was a dream so powerful, I couldn't help but begin to put pen to paper and write (what I thought would be) the Lord of the Dragons book. But in the years that passed, the more I wrote, the more realised I didn't just want to write this story in words. I had (and have) a whole lore and society in my head, which consists of a beautiful dynamic vast expanse of lush green forests spreading miles across the planet, peppered infrequently with the ruins of once great cities but yet then defined by great white marble citadels the dragons built above ground after they took control over what we thought was our planet.

For the last few years, I have worked on the project tirelessly with almost every spare moment I have. Concept models and art, 3D prints and character refinements are just some of the things I have worked on to build the Lord of the Dragons world to the point it is at today. This website is the amalgamation of what I originally started working on as a book, which in more recent years I decided was better portrayed as a comic book series. The characters, world and story are so vibrant, clear and detailed in my mind that I wanted to ensure that they were captured exactly as I envisaged them straight from the start. So to do this, I have spent thousands of hours working on the project and intend to bring it fully to fruition in 2025 in the form of the 1st edition of the comic book series.

I have a saying I first wrote in the early 2000's which is "The future matters not in the mind of many, until it becomes the present" and I think about that saying a lot as I move through my life and on the journey of this creation of mine.
